TWIN FALLS SHOOTING: VICTIMS IDENTIFIED
Twin Falls Police have identified the three victims killed in Saturday’s In-N-Out shooting as 23-year-old Ashley Garibay of Stockton, California; 66-year-old Dale Schultz of Salt Lake City, Utah; and 59-year-old Christopher Claunch of Hagerman.
FLAGS LOWERED IN MEMORY OF VICTIMS
The City of Twin Falls is lowering flags at all city facilities to half-staff for one week, through August 17, in memory of the victims of Saturday’s tragic shooting at Canyon Park West.
City leaders are also inviting businesses, organizations, and residents to voluntarily lower their flags as a sign of remembrance and community support.
HUNDREDS ATTEND COMMUNITY VIGIL
Several hundred people attended a Community Candlelight Vigil last evening at Twin Falls City Park.
The event honored the victims of Saturday’s tragic mass shooting at In-N-Out.
Pastors led prayer groups throughout the evening, offering support to a community still healing.
VIRTUAL FAMILY ASSISTANCE CENTER AVAILABLE
The Twin Falls Police Department, in partnership with the FBI, is sharing a Virtual Family Assistance Center to support those impacted by the recent shooting.
This online resource provides information and support for victims, family members, and loved ones who may be unable to attend the in-person Family Assistance Center or who may prefer to access resources remotely.
FBI resources from across the country, including victim services providers, have responded to assist those affected.

At the same time, the in-person Family Assistance Center is located at Sawtooth Elementary School, 1771 Stadium Boulevard.
Services will be available today, August 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. MDT.
WENDELL FAMILY SHARES STORY OF SURVIVAL
A Wendell family is sharing its story of survival after two women were caught in Saturday’s gunfire near the In-N-Out Burger.
Isabel Torres, 31, and her pregnant sister-in-law, Karla Diaz, 34, were driving to a gathering when bullets struck their vehicle.
Diaz, who is five months pregnant, suffered minor wounds to her head and hand and was released from the hospital that day.
Torres was shot multiple times, suffering three fractured ribs, a lacerated liver, and a bullet fragment lodged in her heart. She was airlifted to Salt Lake City and admitted to intensive care.
Despite her injuries, Torres protected and guided Diaz to safety.
She has left intensive care but faces a physical and emotional recovery with her two teenage daughters.

AIR QUALITY ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT
An Air Quality Advisory remains in effect across Cassia, Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln, Minidoka, and Twin Falls counties because of wildfire smoke.
Air quality is currently listed as unhealthy, and open burning is prohibited until conditions improve.
$50,000 POWERBALL TICKET SOLD IN TWIN FALLS COUNTY
Someone in Twin Falls County is holding a winning Powerball Double Play ticket worth $50,000 from Monday night’s drawing.
The Idaho Lottery says the winning retailer will not be identified until the prize is claimed.
Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot for tonight’s drawing has climbed to $786 million.
IMMIGRATION ATTORNEYS REPORT MORE ICE DETENTIONS AT AIRPORTS
Some Idaho immigration attorneys say they are seeing more people detained by ICE after TSA screening at airports, including Boise.
The Boise Airport says it has not seen an increase in detentions or changed any immigration enforcement procedures.
IDAHO UPGRADES PUBLIC COURT RECORD KIOSKS
Searching Idaho court records just got easier.
The Idaho Judicial Branch has upgraded public computer kiosks in all 44 county courthouses, allowing people to search court cases and hearing information without needing a party name or case number.
IDAHOANS URGED TO CHECK JULY PRODUCT RECALLS
Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador is urging Idahoans to check their homes after 39 products were recalled in July.
The list includes baby items, appliances, batteries, fireworks, and furniture.
If you own a recalled product, stop using it immediately.
STACEY WONDRA MURDER TRIAL DELAYED
The murder trial for Stacey Wondra has been delayed until March 2027.
Wondra is charged with kidnapping and murdering 5-year-old Michael Vaughan, who disappeared from Fruitland in 2021.
Wondra has pleaded not guilty.

MURTAUGH FOOTBALL LEANS ON YOUTH
Murtaugh football will lean on youth this season, with a roster made up mostly of sophomores.
Head coach Chad Young says development, effort, and team chemistry will be the keys for the Red Devils in 2026.
Senior leaders Andres Jaime and Preston Stanger are helping set the tone after a strong offseason, while Young says breakout player Zander Vale is one to watch.
With defending powers Kendrick and Logos out of the 2A picture, Murtaugh believes a wide-open classification gives the Red Devils a chance to make some noise this fall.
CALLEN TOLLESTRUP COMMITS TO CSI
The College of Southern Idaho has picked up another future piece for its men’s basketball program.
Six-foot-eight forward Callen Tollestrup of Provo, Utah, has verbally committed to the Golden Eagles, but he will first spend two years serving an LDS mission in Trujillo, Peru.
Tollestrup says head coach Jeff Reinert’s encouragement to serve his mission helped seal the decision.
The 1,000-point scorer averaged nearly 21 points and more than eight rebounds per game as a senior and says CSI fans can expect a hard-working player who gives everything he has got.
BOISE STATE LAUNCHES LIMITED-EDITION WINES
Boise State fans have a new way to celebrate this season.
Boise State Athletics has partnered with Garden City’s Proletariat Wine Company to launch two limited-edition wines: Blue Turf Blend and Bronco Bubbles.
The custom wines will be available at Bronco football games, other stadium events, and select Albertsons stores while supplies last.
Athletic Director Jeramiah Dickey says the partnership highlights local businesses supporting Boise State, while the winery says the wines were created for fans to enjoy while cheering on the Broncos.
TWO BRONCOS NAMED TO NATIONAL WATCH LISTS
Boise State has added two more national preseason honors.
Fifth-year offensive lineman Roger Carreon has been named to the Outland Trophy Watch List, recognizing the nation’s top interior lineman, while edge rusher Jayden Virgin-Morgan is back on the Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List for the country’s top defensive player.
Carreon started all 14 games last season, and Virgin-Morgan led the Broncos with six sacks.
They join a growing list of Boise State players earning national preseason recognition heading into the 2026 season.
3⃣ DEKKER HAGGLER EARNS IDAHO STATE’S NUMBER THREE JERSEY
Idaho State’s iconic number three jersey has a new owner.
Defensive back Dekker Haggler has earned the honor of wearing the number this season after leading the Bengals in special teams contributions.
The jersey was retired for Bengal legend Case deBruijn, whose game-winning field goal helped Idaho State capture the 1981 national championship, and is now awarded each year to the player who best represents excellence and selflessness on special teams.
Haggler says wearing number three is an honor and a responsibility.
