ELMORE COUNTY: RA1 FIRE AND EMERGENCY ALERT CONCERNS
Officials say all residents impacted by the fast-moving RA1 Fire in Mountain Home are accounted for, while one injured Elmore County deputy remains hospitalized but is expected to recover.
During a news conference yesterday, officials also addressed concerns from residents who say they never received emergency alerts as crews rushed door-to-door warning people to evacuate.
WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS: IDAHO RESIDENTS URGED TO GET READY
Wildfire officials are urging Idaho residents to prepare now by creating evacuation plans, packing emergency go-bags, and clearing dry debris around homes.
The Red Cross also recommends keeping emergency supplies, medications, and pet plans ready before wildfire season intensifies.

A new 134-million-dollar women’s prison is now planned south of Boise and is expected to open in 2027.

CSI SOFTBALL: GOLDEN EAGLES SEASON ENDS AT WORLD SERIES
In CSI softball, the 13th-seeded College of Southern Idaho saw its season come to an end Wednesday at the NJCAA Division One World Series, falling to eighth-seeded Trinity Valley on a walk-off hit.
The Golden Eagles led 6-to-4 before a seven-and-a-half-hour rain delay paused the action.
CSI added two more runs when play resumed, but Trinity Valley rallied late for the win.
Despite the tough ending, CSI wraps up another outstanding season with a Scenic West Athletic Conference title, a Region 18 Championship, a fifth straight national tournament appearance, and an impressive 43-and-13 overall record.
GOODING NATIVE ANDREW CARTER: UFL DEBUT
Gooding native Andrew Carter continues proving hard work pays off.
After grinding from NAIA Carroll College to Weber State, then the Indoor Football League, Carter made his United Football League debut Saturday — even throwing a key lead block on a touchdown.
The former Senator says growing up in Gooding taught him to embrace the grind, and now he’s one step closer to the NFL dream.
BOISE STATE FOOTBALL: PAC-12 TV SCHEDULE
Boise State football now knows when and where fans can watch the Broncos’ first season in the Pac-12.
The conference officially announced kickoff times and TV networks yesterday, with Boise State set for 10 nationally televised games.
The Broncos open the season September 5th at Oregon on CBS, then host Memphis September 12th on USA Network.
Boise State will appear five times on USA, twice on CBS Sports Network, twice on The CW, and once on CBS during the regular season.
The Broncos also announced a goal of reaching 23-thousand season tickets for the 2026 season.
BOISE TWILIGHT CRITERIUM RETURNS
Downtown Boise will once again turn into a high-speed race course this summer as the 39th Annual Boise Twilight Criterium returns Saturday, July 11th.
The action starts with a kids ride led by three-time Olympic gold medalist Kristin Armstrong at 11 a.m., followed by the fan expo opening at 1 in Cecil D. Andrus Park.
A one-mile charity run benefits Girls on the Run before the pro races begin at 5:45 in front of the Capitol Building, with riders competing for a half-million-dollar purse split between the men’s and women’s divisions.
IDAHO FOOTBALL: VANDALS LAND ESPN GAMES
Idaho Football will get plenty of national exposure this season, with three games selected for linear ESPN networks.
The Vandals open August 28th at Cal Poly on ESPN, then travel to Utah September 3rd on ESPNU.
Idaho’s big home matchup against defending FCS champ Montana State on October 2nd will also air nationally on ESPN.
It marks the program’s most regular season ESPN appearances since 2009.
IDAHO STATE FOOTBALL: BENGALS HEADED TO NATIONAL TV
Idaho State football is headed to national television in 2026.
The Bengals’ November 14th matchup at Montana has been selected for an ESPN network broadcast, with kickoff set for 8:30 Mountain Time under the lights in Missoula.
The Big Sky Conference landed a record five nationally televised games this season, showing the growing spotlight on conference football.
Meanwhile, Idaho State is now just 94 days away from opening the season at the ICCU Dome against VMI.
